BHARS Hosts Seminar on Maktab and Madrasa Education System of the Bengal Sultanate

Savar, Dhaka — 25 July 2025:
The Bangladesh History and Archaeology Research Society (BHARS) organized an academic seminar titled “Maktab and Madrasa Education System of Bengal Sultanate in the Light of Archaeological and Epigraphic Evidence.” The event was held at the Professor A. R. Mallick Lecture Hall, Department of History, Jahangirnagar University.

The research paper was presented by Dr. Md. Mozahedul Haque, who provided a comprehensive analysis of educational institutions during the Bengal Sultanate, drawing upon archaeological findings and epigraphic records. His presentation offered new perspectives on the structure, functions, and cultural significance of maktabs and madrasas in medieval Bengal.

The session was chaired by Professor Dr. A. K. M. Shahnawaz, whose scholarly reflections and critical insights added significant depth to the discussion.

The seminar featured active engagement from faculty members, students, and researchers, creating an interactive environment marked by meaningful dialogue and constructive academic exchange.
